New Feature: Better Reward Control for Parents

Pierre Séguin

Our overarching goal at Brili is to make it super easy for parents to raise successful kids. No two kids are the same, though, and each parent has a unique style, so we're gradually adding new ways to customize Brili for your family's needs.

Until now, Brili granted reward stars associated with a task regardless of whether it was completed before the timer ran out. This caused consternation for some, but not all, depending on what kinds of reward worked most effectively with kids.

In our most recent release, you may notice that awarding the stars regardless of time is no longer the default behavior. Instead, when a timer counts down to zero the stars also go to zero for that activity. In Parent Mode, the settings screen for each activity now allows you to to override this behavior if you preferred the old way:

This is the default for all new tasks and our routine library. With the switch set this way, the star value of a card drops to zero when its timer runs out.

Kyle is already working on the next highly requested feature and you should be seeing very soon!

We look forward to hearing what you think.
